I went by the nest today, Thursday. One gone, one slacker still there. My neighbor got some great HD video of the two of them yesterday.

Cute little hummers! Friends have given me empty hummer nests but I'd love to find a nest with little ones in it like this! CJ

The more I messed with the original, the more I messed it up. So, this shot remains as for now.

Thanks for your comments ALL! They looked to be ready to leave that nest you're right. Will check on them in the morning. Mikey, I had a LOT of the background to work with, for some reason this seemed best. I know square pics aren't popular, nor work often. It's a first for me. If I still have the original, I'll send it to you so you can work your vodoo magic.
Be well & happy shooting.

Those guys are stuffed in there. I'm sure they will be leaving for good soon. Nature is delicate. -COAmature

Great shot, Tom! Fits the theme perfectly. If it were me, I'd go for the rectangular crop, i.e. leave more background to give more of a feel where this is taking place and give a chance to get on the "thirds" to add a bit more interest, as well. Burning down blown highlights doesn't work that well for me (?) but cloning does. A little work with the Shadow/Highlight tool seems in order. I did a sample (sans crop, of course) and put it in the Pending Gallery (to be removed). Congrats on a great find. Cheers, -mikey

Geez they look squeezed in there, very well shot Tom. If you're any good at cloning you could get rid of those blown highlights above their heads or just burn them in a bit. The light is really nice on the birds.
