Good stuf Mikey. Looks fine on my monitor. -COAmature

Haven't changed a thing since the last go-round and its sharp as a tack on my monitor, so, I'll leave it as is. Thanks for commenting, Guys. Cheers, -mikey

Yes itis, no itisn't, yes itis:-)

Seems clearer now/again!

This looks overall better to me now, the word mail may not be really clear but as soon as I look at it me brain registers the words Air Mail so its not a problem for me. I think Tom is suggesting a re shoot because he knows you have to go over two mountains & a 10 mile trek on foot to get here:-)

The contrast is improved; however, 'MAIL' is barely readable, '7190' is breaking up & blurred areas throughout. Seems to be one of those "forest for the trees" things. If it's not too far away, maybe another shoot is in order.

Thanks for all the help, Guys. In that we all are looking at the pix in the galleries in different ways, i.e. different monitors, it makes getting it "right" a spotty proposition. Not only that, interestingly, this pic doesn't look the same after I upload it. I have it on my Photoshop screen and Firefox after upload, and I'm looking at both and the FF version in the gallery isn't as contrasty?? Go figure! How does it look to y'all? Except for the sky, I did change the contrast & brightness, USMed it and did a separate contrast and darkening on the mailboxes to get them to stand out more. Hope this helps. Cheers, -mikey

Mikey, I'm sorry, I don't understand any of the previous PP talk. But whatever you did to this pic, it now almost hurts my eyes when looking at those trees. Just can't seem to focus & the mailboxes aren't enough. I didn't get that when it was first posted?

I thought it was you, Tom, but I figured you wouldn't mind being the "Mystery Guest" for a bit. Well, a high cloud must have passed over the sun ":^). You were right about the sat, Rod. I had to turn it down -10 and its still seems more saturated than the previous posting which was only a +2 (pretty much as it came out of the cam). It definitely does have more depth now, tho. Thanks, guys. Cheers, -mikey

"Mystery" was I. Sorry about the missing signature. The Freudian slip tells how I feel about sigs. -tv

It looks a bit overall light for me too Mikey. You could have a go at just pulling down the middle of the curves tool to darken it but you may have to back the saturation off as this seems to increase when darkened. The darkening will give it more depth.............I think:-) Good humour here, a:-)

Thanks for the comments, CJ & Mystery Critic. CJ - This thing has cracked me up for years. It was the first thing I thought of when Tom came up with this Challenge topic but it took me a couple days to get over there and shoot it.
Mystery - It was a clear and bright sunny afternoon with the sun shining down the road (runs E-W) from the right. I didn't "brighten" it at all, but I'll admit I did give the sat a crank or two. Given that info, do you think I need to tone it down? Cheers, -mikey

Mikey you've caught another good one that cracked me up, having never it before. Are CO pilots that good? It looks a little too bright on my monitor.

I've seen these kinds of airmail signs before but this is one of the best! Nice shot Mikey! CJ

Mikey, you sure see some fun thing in CO! Good catch as usual.
