Splendid bokeh! Shot just wouldn't be the same without it. Adds a lot mystery to the shot.

You turned a dreary day into a wonderful picture...the gold spots, the star spangled lights, the red streak...
Great work.

Great effect with the raindrops on the lens Paul - and you're braver than I taking your camera out in a storm! CJ

That's a good point Paul but make sure Mutleys tail is clean cos you might scratch the lens.

Wipes off dunnit?

I thought you must have bin in a phone box because only an idiot would let rain get on the lens..................I should have known.

Thanks for the comments all. This was taken at the end of our street in a howling gale with the rain lashing down. It's a good job i bought a decent tripod a while ago as a rubbish one would never had held steady for the 10 second exposure. My right hand was desperately hanging on to a brolly keeping it out of frame but enough to keep the rain off the camera but some of course made it on to the lens whcih i really didn't want but the effect in the end has come out well.
I'll clone out or tone down that very bright light and maybe while i'm at it have a go at the contrast doodah. As for curves, the only ones i know of are the lovely ones that Emma has:>)

This is a very busy image in a good way. -COAmature

Was this taken inside a phone box Paul?
When was the ban lifted from you hanging around schools.

Very nice clarity, colors & that great lighting effect! The contrast of the sharp detail against the "stary effect" works well.

Hi Paul, This is very cool. The only minor feedback I have is the lone white/blue light in left side. All of the other lighting is a wonderful gold. That said this is a really excellant start to a fun challenge. Yvonne Rod, could either of us hold still for 10 seconds.....at our age?

This is really great Paul- love the light effect. Wonderful image just as it is now, but can't help wondering if a little bit of curve and contrast adjustment might make it just a little more punchy with added clarity? But I realize this is a 10 second shot and the long exposures often have a slightly murky look. Possibly not, but a little more PP might be worth exploring. Great work Paul!

I echo what everybody said, would add that I really like how the white part of the sign looks white a w/o WB hiccup. Did you shoot it Raw or used CWB, Paul. If not then the G6 did an excellent job with the auto WB.

It must have been an easy shot otherwise Paul couldn't have got it:-) Did you use a tripod Paul? this turned out really well a. Well done mate.

Agreed. Quite a variety of nifty night lighting effects, and I like the echo of the school zone sign across the street. Not an easy shot - very well executed. -tv
