Thanks Philippe & Tommy:-) I think it's more luck than judgement Tommy:-) I was shooting the sunrise just before we could see the sun as I didn't really want the sun in the shots. As soon as the sun appeared I started to take some shots of old faithful here. I actually sat on the damp road to get this:-)

yep! a nice one! maybe a crop on the left to make the white line starting at the left angle, and to erase this part of tree.

I'm marvelling how crucial your timing was in this shot. The sun is at exactly the level of the surface of the white painted patch in the foreground; so that the light is caught by only right edge of the paint and some of the imperfections in the pavement. -tv

Thanks Doug & Tommy:-) Tommy I found your pink umbrella shot with the gallery headers & put it here in Eligible for a while but then had to put it in Pending. It got great reviews while it was here, so think about changing it for one of your Eligible shots.

I agree with all the foregoing, but it's actually not a bore... You've been challenged so keep it up, although it could be a problem if you keep winning with it. The US constitution was amended to limit presidential terms to two after FDR won three times... -tv

Don't promise to shoot somewhere else just yet. I was actually thinking you should make this lighthouse fit into any challenge. A challenge within a challenge. Besides, I like the idea of having a signature picture and would like to come up with something myself. -COAmature

I guess we all have places or things we go back to and shoot a bit much Rod, but there is no denying this is a beautiful image. I like the glowing color of the morning light- especially where you can see hints of it in the textured foreground. Well done mate.

Who else would bore people with the same shot entered in the last 10 challenges:-) Thanks Sue Anne:-)

I knew it was a Rod shot before I opened this up.

I like the white lines and the orangey things leading up to the lighthouse. :)
