Points well made tv :-) I don't think cropping a lot of ceiling will help make other elements of the image work, so I can only hope there are enough lines working in favor of the topic the way things are now. Always appreciate the honest input.

Still too much ceiling for me, but Iknow how hard it is to give up all that scrumptuous detail. To my eye, the problem is that the strongest receding lines start mostly from the center of each side, and the ceiling has a sequence of strong parallel lines opposing the movement into the frame. So when the parallel ceiling members are cropped out, movement into the distance is accelerated. -tv

Colorful and luminous. Great shape on the ceiling too.

Hey thanks tv, I tried your suggestion and cropped some of the roof out. Maybe I didn't go as far as you had in mind, but I like the way it creates a smoother frame along the top now and that the mass of the ceiling has become roughly one third of the image. Appreciate the input :-)

Great color play - intense red receding into greens. It could be so much more intense with less beige. IMHO (Rod's principals notwithstanding), crop down to where the i-beam diagonals intersect the edge for a very strong pic. -tv

Thanks much Paul and GSB. I think the chairs look cool, but they are actually a color many would describe as horrid orange hue Paul- they aren't quite red. I didn't move anything about GSB, I mainly wanted to get this when that person in the distance was standing in the right spot. Well, and my parking meter had run out too ;-)

Love the colours in this pic and the trail in to the distance. Did you try the shot without the chair in the foreground or with it more to the right?
Paul 12-May-2007 07:25
Ha ha bloody ha Rod

Great one Brent. I love the way you get drawn up to the roof and almost thrown to the far end of the room.

Colours look great. Often reds take on a horrid orange hue. At least mine do.......
Rod 12-May-2007 04:06
The trail looks more like where they dragged Paul out:-)
Brent 12-May-2007 03:26
Thanks much Doug :-) I guess that trail is probably from the wheels of a service cart or something. I thought it worked well for adding a distance aspect too.

The coloring is great Brent. The red really sets it off. What is that trail between the chairs? It adds to the image. -COAmature

Thanks Sue Anne, Aam and Rod :-) I was having some trouble with color space in the last challenge Aam. Turns out using Adobe Lightroom before Photoshop had me uploading images that were done in ProPhoto RGB colorspace so the Pbase colors were muted. This image was processed with web display in mind using sRGB and the uploaded image looks just as it did in Photoshop. Those chairs really are bright in real life- possibly that is what seems off to you?
Rod 12-May-2007 02:35
You're seeing the vibrant web colours of sRGB Aammm:-) I think Brent has just converted from posting in Adobe RGB which is for printing & sRGB for the web. This shot looks fine to me & I too like the lines in the floor making a distance statement. Well done Brent

Your photos, all of a sudden, look kind of funny Brent. Not talking about the subject or the idea but the technical side (color space or something like that). What have you done differently this time, and was it by design.
sue anne12-May-2007 01:27
I like it, the lines lead the way down.
