Can't believe I have the old RAW image. Whadya know!

I'm sure Bruce could do quite well with my old 127 Roll Film Tower Box Camera from the 1955 Sears Catalog, but all we would see would be the three scraggly ladies and a bit of beach. -tv

top picture. any chance of seeing the original - I am not trying to discredit the the picture, just get a feel what is possible if I ever learnt to use post processing.

I'll let Bruce explain the CSLR group ;)

WOW! Super shot in all respects.

Please explain about the "CSLR group".

I'm really learning a thing or two on this site. I didn't know this B&W effect has become a part of digital processing, although it looks darker than my old red filter with Panatomic-X. Regardless, I love the clouds and infinite depth of this shot. The three ageless beachcombers are a triple coup-de-grace that adds some real poignency, especially in its historical context, and artistically in any context. -tv

Jeepers, sorry guys. I don't really check my images very often. I've already seen them too many times, especially these old ones.

If memory serves me right, I didn't use a polarizer on this one cause I shot it with the 10-22, which is really nice for expansive skies. I probably processed it from raw and then converted to b/w by using a simulated red filter in a little plug-in by Fred Miranda called B/W Pro (or something like that). The b/w conversion in CS3 is far superior and really is the best for something like this. But my trial has expired and I haven't got paid for this month yet!!!! -- Bruce

Agree with Rod, and that's why I don't comment on Bruce's excellent photos (are we 2nd class to the CSLR group. I wonder).
Rod 11-May-2007 19:26
Sometimes using a polariser can help give you a darker part to the sky Tom & of course dodging, burning & a contrast boost is another way. I'm only commenting on wot Bruce may have done because he's took the vow of silence:-).......................I think most of our other posters have too.
