This is a cool shot, Kevin, I'm not too sure about the framing part, tho. This is the time of year when birds are doing their mating dance in many parts of the country. These are Yellow-shafted Northern Flickers, apparently doing a part of theirs. I'm not sure which part, but the one on the pole is a male; the flyer is a female. They're woodpecker-type birds and feed on insects in trees and their favorite is ants (that's wot it says in my bird book, anyway). My complements, -mikey

This really is a beautiful image Kevin, those birds (whatever they are) are really something. I see mild framing in my frazzled brain (been looking at too many images) - works for me :-)

Excellent capture! Wish it was a little sharper on the subjects as it seems most sharp on the lines going into the post. I'm having trouble seeing the framed part of this for the most part, but if I really get a creative mind it can work. Nice job Kevin. jano

Yes a really nice shot, I think it would work better for the framed topic without the bird on the post. Goodun mate:-)

Lovely Kevin - beautiful colors and nice composition! Better watch your equipment, I may have to come and "borrow" it so I can get some good wildlife shots this summer! ;-) CJ

Very nice, Kevin. Do you know what kind of birds they are?
