Thanks for commenting RK and Brent. This is on a 14 mile round trip hike near or in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Forest on Lake Superior in Michigan. This old remnant was just laying on the beach and calling to me. We even found some nice mushrooms to eat in the forest (yes we knew what they were :) jano

Now that's a big old knarled tree Jano. The detail and color are wonderful. Hmmm, the water looks so calm for an open ocean otherwise I would guess Northern California- is this one of the Great Lakes? Nice work.
