I will dedicate this image to my mother who passed away this morning. The Monday prior to Mom going into the hospital, Amber, Colyn and I took mom to her favorite restaurant, Culvers. While we were eating, Amber decided to suck on some lemons and was making the funniest faces, it had all of us laughing, especially my mother. My mother, before she died, asked Amber to come to her bedside, gave her a kiss, told her how much she loved her and started to cry. This was one of only a few of my mother's lucid moments this past week. It is something I shall never forget as long as I live. I told Amber to remember that moment every day. So, in a nutshell, when I heard that the challenge was going to be portraits, I had decided that I would try to recreate the face that mom found so funny and endearing. I love you mom!
