Saw them. Thanks

I left my comment(s) there.

I've posted a couple of changes to this in pending Aammm. One just cropped leaving all her chair in & a dodgy clone job just to show off:-)
aam1234 06-Apr-2007 16:47
Just had a look at the original and I don't think I can clone out the elbow, too difficult. I'm putting back the original if you guys don't mind.
Rod 06-Apr-2007 13:07
I like the first shot better than this but the elbow was a distraction. There's is a middle ground where you can have the good parts of the first shot, you just went too far with the cropping.
aam1234 05-Apr-2007 14:40
Thank you very much Rod, Kiki, Christina, CJ, and Sharon. I'm no Kiki, PS/PSE talent wise but I'll try the cloning and see what happens. Personally, I'm with Sharon, I like the original better...it gives an idea about the setting, imo.

Thank you much guys, appreciate the comments and advice.

This is delightful, aam! But I am with the don't crop, clone, contingent. I am sure if you were careful you could have cloned out the elbow and left her hand and the chair and the bit of blue to her left. She is wonderful this way but the image would be more balanced with that bit of blue back again. ~Sharon

Great shot Aam and I think the crop works well. It would have been nice to have her hand in there and the rest of the chair without the elbow, but I'm sure it would be difficult to do. Wonderful spontaneous shot well done! CJ

Kiki don't lead this young man astray:-) Aammm don't listen to Kiki she's a Photoshop temptress, plus if you follow her advice your shots will look far better & we can't have that:-)

Much stronger, in my opinion. Great work! I think that if you loosen the crop too much it becomes apparent that we don't get all of her hand (since, if I recall, it's under the elbow). I think this is nice.
ctfchallenge02-Apr-2007 16:25
Her expression and gesture is just wonderful. Colors too. I think I know what could be done to the original upload of this pic.. There's a chair to the left... hint hint.. --kiki2
Rod 02-Apr-2007 11:40
I think you cropped too close Aammm, can you post the original in pending so we can see it again? I thought it could be cropped so the whole chair the girl is sitting would be in the shot.Maybe just a clone on what was left of the elbow after cropping.
aam1234 02-Apr-2007 06:04
The elbow is no longer there. How is it now.
ctfchallenge01-Apr-2007 17:42
Sorry aam, I'm going to have to come down on the "no elbow" side of the debate. The background is so stark and blue, the elbow takes away from its impact. Just try it, you might like it! :) -Christina

Thanks, Bill.

Other than the crop, this one rocks.
aam1234 30-Mar-2007 14:16
Thanks, Abs. I'll try cropping a bit and see how it goes.
ctfchallenge30-Mar-2007 14:03
excellent photo of an innocent kid with a beautiful and "pure" smile. imo if anything that doesnt add to that feel, is extra/unnecessary. -Abstract
aam1234 30-Mar-2007 13:27
:)
Rod 30-Mar-2007 12:23
Bugger the setting Aammm you're one elbow away from a masterpiece:-)
aam1234 30-Mar-2007 10:27
Thanks mate. I kind of like the arm there, it gives an idea about the setting.
Rod 30-Mar-2007 08:11
Well done Aammm this is a great looking shot mate. The background blur works a treat here & adds a surreal touch but I agree wiv Henry, the arm adds a touch of a snapshot look instead of a great picy look. So close mate, well done:-)
aam1234 30-Mar-2007 02:05
Cheers Henry.
ctfchallenge30-Mar-2007 01:55
aam1234, I like the image, it was just a suggestion that I though might work, but it is not at all detracting from the overall photograph. - Henry
aam1234 29-Mar-2007 23:43
You think like I do, Shu.
ctfchallenge29-Mar-2007 23:39
I had thought about the elbow but decided it's needed. After all, she needs someone besides us to enjoy her infectious laughter. shu
aam1234 29-Mar-2007 21:56
Thanks, Henry. I thought about that before posting the photo, but thought the inclusion of her mom and the chair is how I saw my niece. Put differently, the photo and my niece's laugh will lose context without the said elements. That's my take on it at least.

What do you think
ctfchallenge29-Mar-2007 21:34
Great shot! I agree with Shu about the blue BG and empty chair. Just my opinion but I wonder if it would help the composition if the elbow and partial chair on the right could be cloned out? I wouldn't want it cropped. Nice job even though. - Henry
aam1234 29-Mar-2007 19:17
Thanks, Shu. She just went on laughing for no apparent reason. I asked her mom (seated to the right) she said it happens everyday. Those twins must have some kind of code or something :)
ctfchallenge29-Mar-2007 19:06
Great! I like everything about the shot (blue background and empty chair on the left). shu
aam1234 29-Mar-2007 18:53
Hi Pete, and thanks for the comment.
ctfchallenge29-Mar-2007 18:29
It made me laugh too. PeteH
aam1234 29-Mar-2007 18:22
