Thanks, Rod. I had already done some burning of the background but have been feeling that the front flower just doesn't "pop" enough. I like your version...guess I've got some work to do.

I had a bit of a dodge & burn with this shot Mary Anne & posted them in pending. I ended up liking both dodging the flower & burning in the background.

A great looking shot but if you can keep the subtle look I would just carefully dodge the main flower just a tad. On the other hand burning in the other flowers may work just as well, I think I prefer the burning in of the other flowers. Well done Mary Anne.
I like this dark. But if you want to call it "pink" then yes, maybe it should brighten a bit. Call it "purple" and you're fine. At least in my opinion. I think it's moody and really pretty!
Thank you, Christina. I've been thinking that I need to brighten that tulip a bit. What do you think? I know that I have a tendency to prefer my shots darker than many people like.

So far Mary Anne, this seems the most on topic shot I've seen. You've clearly isolated one tulip from the rest with color, lighting and DOF. Not that every shot needs all three, but this one really seems to say it very well.
