This is great Jamdiver! I've done hundreds and hundreds of these and I know how tough they are! I can't wait to try some more with my new lens and camera! It should be great fun!

I'd love to see the make shift studios you must create for these shots. I don't know how you manage perfect focus then perfect timing. -COAmature

Hey jano,

The sink originally was pinkish, but I just changed the colour temperature in raw to a blueish one.
The 'spots' are actually micro-bubbles I think created by the drop hitting the water.
Water is just naturally this silky smooth, seriously I didn't do anything to get that look.
The only sort of pp on this is levels, curves, contrast, sharpen....
Nothing too drastic.

As for the setup, I just put my macro lens on manual mode, turned down the faucet so it was a drop every few seconds or so, and just shot as soon as I saw the drop in the frame, having no shutter lag really helps.
Internal flash was used, I have another drop that i'll post in the main thread along with some info there.

How did you light this and pull this off Jammy? How did you get the nice silky color? There are a couple of spots I would clone out. Not having a dslr, are those dust spots or ....? I love these shots and really want to xp with them.... How did you do the set up? :) jano

Thanks for the feedback guys, Cat i've made the change :).
Jano, I shot this with manual focus so getting the right focus was a bit difficult.
The top drop is slightly nearer to the camera than the drop that hits the water, hence the difference in focus..

Wonderfully captured!
Few pointers if you don't mind (*): Make it a vertical crop and straighten the drop.

ohhhhhh I want to do these too but just can't seem to... Jammy I wish there was more focus on the top of the splash....the litle bubble on top - or am I just looking at this in the wrong way? Very silky. jano
