While I really like this shot RK, and the pot of curry is in the center, my eyes go all over the place to all the bright spots, both white and red. Terrific image, but I'm not sure it feels center weighted to me. CJ

Abs comment made me notice something, that the PP gives a subtle impression of "hot" or "spicy". Didn't think of that before.

Thanks Fly,Aam,Jano, Rod and Abs.
Took the shot over-exposing the white stove top.
Light source - single over-head light recessed in the stovetop hood. Turned off rest of the lights in the room to control the light spill.

Post-Processing:
Used raw converter (Capture One) to process the raw file. Increased the exposure further and bumped up the contrast (by not much). Converted to jpeg, opened in PS, reduced the size and applied USM and saved for web. Thats it, no fancy processing in PS like selective burning or dodging.

Rod - I do see your point...but this is effect I was going for.

spicy spicy...sooo good!!! :)
this shot, especially the curry in the pan, reminds me of your old shot "Tomato Soup" (Exhibition: 102-Red). similar PP, i guess. i like the shot overall but may be a bit more details in the pan would have helped to increase the center-weight. -Abstract

I can see the appeal in shots processed like this but because we see other shots processed in a similar manner from other posters around the forums it loses it's individuality as they all seem to have the same look & flavour. Lee posted stuff like this for a while but they had a greenish tinge.(the voters liked em):-) Shot's from the camera seem to look far more individual & stand the test of time better but shots like this seem date easily.Remember the solarised shots from the late 60s early 70s they look a bit quaint now. To me these are sort of fast food picys, instant gratification but bad for you in the long term. Still as long as your having fun:-)

I also like the pp... it is high contrast but yet it gives a feel of warmth...with the focus being on the pan. Really imaginative and great image RK. jano

This is nice, especially the idea and PP treatment. Good work RK.
