Light trap *

Self portrait of me holding a low watt (so I didn't burn my hands) compact fluourescent light. I positioned my hands to create as many shadow variations as possible.

Here is the reshoot done on 1/14/07 without the cord and chain chowing.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great job with the reshot. I do like this much better. Excellent concept for the challenge.

The decision to leave the cord and chain in was deliberate. I wanted the viewer to see the secret of the hand light. But you all are beginning to make me rethink my decision. Maybe I will try reshoot this weekend. Thanks everbody.

Very nice idea and like the title too.
And even if you used a low light bulb, ouch :)

Love this pic - like the colour in your top and the "readybrek" effect on your fingers. Agree with the idea of hiding the end of the bulb

Your portrait shot is my fav Bill - I think you could work with a blacklit hand also and get good results. jano

Ditto Carole's comments, well done Bill:-)

I like the idea here Bill! Maybe to make it a little more mysterious, shoot it again so we can't see the base of the bulb or cord (cloning might work for some of that) and maybe also shoot with a faster shutter to darken it up a little more. Great thinking! CJ
