I think I prefer the original Abs as I find the layers menu a bit of a distraction:-)....... Maybe Armin can clone it out:-)

This could be a duct-tape-fix to the problem...there are two images in the "Pending" with steps and results. Please let me know, if you need further explanation. Three layers in the "peding" image are as follows: (1) Bottom most layer (Background) is the original image (2) middle layer is a golden color layer with mode set to "overlay" (3) Top layer is also the original image. With a layer mask applied to get details from the bottom layers. Hope this helps. -Abstract

Tried pp already, but I am not happy with the results...hm...I think, I'll leave it as it is as learning experience, but will be much more careful in the future :o) Armin

if you are not happy with white-flash light...you can fake warm light by manipulating wb in the camera. of course you can do it in post-processing too, but i found camera wb manipulation much easier, if i know exactly what i want and have control over the light. -Abstract ps: although in this particular case (one white and one yellow light) i dont know what would i have done except trying some pp.

Thanks, Sue Anne and Abs! I'm just an absolute beginner with stills, and also very unhappy about the white light, used my flash with a diffusor, but the tone's just not right...so true, would have needed some foil or a reflector card to get a better match. I will try to do it better next time :o)

what an excellent shot Armin. i like it a lot. btw why did you use "white" light on the left? feels a bit harsh, especially compared to nice, warm and rich golden-yellow light on the opposite side. -Abstract

Very nice Armin. Abit on the dark side (wouldn't have known there was flash used) and I like the candle glowing.
