This is also my fave of the three. Really like the point of focus and how the red background complements the blue spindle. Are you using a new 150mm macro lens? :)

Very nice one, Armin...and I have no quibble with the focus or DOF, both of which appear just perfect to me.

this definitely has to be my favourite of your three.
may be because of intriguing feeling i have about the dof. threads and needle both are in focus at center but only needle is in focus at its both ends. i would have expected threads along the horizontal line of needle-point to be in focus (both are in same plane) too. may be there is just enough more threads at the center to cross the dof plane. in any case, i like it though. -Abstract
