Thanks Techo. My "studio" set up for this shot was a flashlight and some construction paper. I guess I could invest in a diffuser or maybe just use some tissue paper over the flashlight :-)
I do appreciate the nitpicking. Since participating in these contest I have gotten much better at taking photos (and from looking at some of the other entries I still have a long way to go to get as good as the photogs here). As much as I like flattery,it is the criticism that I learn from and so ultimately the criticism is much more valuable.

Only nitpick is the hot spot on the berry to the left. Have you tried diffusing the light source to get a softer light which you can then place as close to the berry?
