Mary Anne
HDR is actually called HDRI = high dynamic range imaging.

I'm not too familiar wiv it Mary Anne but apparently you take five different exposures from under to over exposed & combine them in software. The results show full details in the shadows & highlight area's & look like computer game graphics. Jammy's winning shot last challenge was one, it did look a bit strange but I didn't pick it as an HDR, it stands for high definition something.
Because Tom's shot looked a bit unnatural I thought he had used the dreaded HDR but it turned out to be a simple stitch of 21 picys:-)

I must have missed something along the way. What is HDR?

Maybe it's the perspective of 21 stitches that's throwing me, is this in the Guinness book of records?:-)
My hesitation with this shot is we're starting to see HDR picys posted with full shadow & highlight details that looks false & something about this shot with all the details made me think you had given up photography to do HDR picys for the wow factor:-)
Well done then Tom you did a great job mate:-)

This looks great Tom. At first glance I thought maybe you did some heavy burning to bring out shadow detail, then I saw all your multiple light sources everywhere. Glad this thing didn't fall over on you. Well done.

not much really,Rod mate.
stitching was the first step.
after stitching some basic level, color balance, a bit ov USM and
noise reduction was applied.resized and saved for web.

is it that unnatural?

light was plenty since all four levels are collapsed, and as you can see I've got some serious holes in the roof and walls too.
if you still wont believe me, I'll send you the original uncropped/unedited stitch.
thanks for watching.
good to be back.

Tom wot processing did you do on this? I'm getting really confused lately seeing very clear details where me brain ses there should be shadows in quite a few shots being posted.
