Nicely exposed Paul. I'll take that beer if Rod don't want it. :) jano

Nice composition and a very delicate image for a guy with such rough hands Paul ;-)
I like the background colors too.
Rod 07-Oct-2006 03:51
I'm just gonna have me afternoon nap (Sat night ya know) Just keep it cold:-)
Paul 07-Oct-2006 02:10
Ta Rod, it came out heaps better than i imagined.

Beer?:>)
Rod 07-Oct-2006 01:15
Bonza mate...........you had better start thinking up the new topic:-)
Paul 06-Oct-2006 23:43
How's this?
Paul 06-Oct-2006 22:59
Thanks Rod, i preferred the background and composition of the other one so i might see if i can do anything with the contrast. I hate messing about with the photo editor though, i'd rather just give the photo the flick.
Rod 06-Oct-2006 21:03
I think the other one had a better background, hard to remember. This one is better exposed but can't you just up the contrast in software on the first shot?
You would be better off exposing your shots more for the highlights & bring the shadows up in software, there's nothing much can be done wiv BH. I always point me camera towards the brightest part of the scene (depending on how I want the shot to look) & press the exposure lock button then recompose & shoot. & all me shots look magnificent a.

Thanks for the comments. I've been having a devil of a time recently with really crook exposure and having lots of things blowing out so i'm over compensating by cranking the exposure right down hence the lack of contrast. This is one i took at the same time and on reflection it's a much better colour.

Nice composition and subject Paul but I do agree that a little brightening and increase in contrast would help make the yellow stand out better from the nice green b/g. Do you have "levels" in your editing program? Maybe just adjusting that would do the trick. CJ

Nice composition, Paul, but I think it needs some brightening or additional contrast.

Nope, there were hundreds of spent and half spent flowers and it didn't take long to find one with 3 petals.
Rod 03-Oct-2006 09:01
That's cheating, you pulled the other petals off.
