Thanks you guys. You were onto something when you wondered if the butterfly wings might only appear to be transparent Jano. They are opaque, but they match the background well enough to give the illusion of transparency . Thanks for your comments! I don't do many shots like this, but it was kind of fun tromping around the garden to get this one.

Beautiful shot Brent! Very colorful background, looks like a jungle! I like how you can see through the butterfly too. :-) CJ

Gorgeous butterfly capture. Not easy catching a shot of these small ones. I really like the green tones and bokeh. The focus is perfect. If this photo wasn't challenge specific perhaps a crop to put more focus on the butterfly would work well too but I do like this a lot, it does give off a magical feel.

Very nice, Brent. This is a shot where the OOF areas really make sense and are integral to the rather ethereal feel of the image.

This is like watching a movie.... Seems like the background is moving but yet the focus is on the butterfly. Love how its wings are transparent, or appear to be so. Is it a dragonfly? Simply wonderful Brent. jano

Hey thanks Rod. I followed this quick moving guy around the back yard for quite a while hoping to get it in the proper light with a nice background. The blur you see is all from the lens which I am really starting to enjoy using, although I justified purchasing it for documenting the work I do at my business :-)

Blimey this is really good Brent with the lighting on the fly picking it out of the background superbly. The blur here is really full on was any done in PS? Probably the great macro lens at work.
A terrific shot Brent, well done mate:-)
