Backyard

Was lucky enough to catch this young ladybug emerging from it's pupa stage. I was out in the yard and just happened to see it coming out and ran inside to get the camera.

A young ladybug coming out of it's cocoon. It will soon get it's spots and orange or red like color. After the ladybug eggs hatch they dont look like the ladybug(which is actually a beetle) we all know. They hatch as larvae which look very much like butterfly caterpillars. An interesting read with more details http://www.insecta-inspecta.com/beetles/ladybug

Wow, what a wonderful opportunity! And you made good use of it, I like the bug leaving it's ugly old house for a bright, new, yellow one. Good work! ~Sharon
