Very, very serious guy you are. I like these diagonal shadows too

A nice moody image. Very serious facial expression can be taken several ways.

Grumpy and a hangover? :) I do like this very much. It definitely had a mood and sense about it. My eye is drawn to those tired eyes of yours. Good work. jano

Thank you all for your comments. Aam - your suggestions weren't taken as criticism - quite the opposite - the first version of this I posted (and the one you commented on) did indeed look a tad 'under-dark' which it hadn't in Photoshop. I adjusted the levels slightly to darken a little further and I think it does look better for it. The G3 might be an old camera now, but it's still an able little performer.

David.

If you think this looks grumpy you should see my mug:-)
This is superb David it has the full range of light from very bright to just getting some shadow detail on the wall behind. The Venetian blind shadows add the final touches to this masterpiece Mate. Fantastic work David

Hope my suggestions don't sound like criticism, it's the opposite. I really like the idea, the composition, and mostly the use of light. Excellent job here.

I like this a lot, the light, the pose, the composition. Good one.

An encore. Maybe our monitors are different, calibrated/not calibrated, but I think a little darkening would be good, it would accentuate the shadow & light. Don't be afraid of dark areas.

Very nice shot Tradescant, and a lot better than your mug at the rouge gallery :)

Excellent use of light!
