Thanks Rod, Bogdan and Armin.
There was no flash used. This was taken at the Philadelpia Flower show...the lighting is from the flood lights. I was more than a meter from the flower (135mm focal length). I give full credit to the lens...just love this lens...its like a delicate wine.

Indeed, good point, Bogdan, the DOF on the flower really is amazing...or it's an amazingly large flower and he's much farer away :o)

Nice shot, the flower really stands out.
Macro flash by any chance? Just curious...
There's one thing that leaves me scratching my head a bit. EXIF sez 1/125, f2.8. At this distance (most likely about a meter or so) DOF would be minuscule, yet the flower is all in focus (or so it seems on this reduced version).
Regards, Bogdan

I can't say this is off topic RK as the lighting is not what I call normal or well lit, it's just that I can't tell where the light is coming from. Telling where the light is coming from has no bearing whether it's on topic or not as long as the light isn't created in PS. This does have a terrific look to it.

Let me know if this is off-topic...have tons of replacements.

The shot looks lovely but I'm buggered if I can tell where the light is coming from. The light doesn't look normal so it has to be on topic.................................I think:-)
