Thanks a lot for your comments Rod and David !

David, if you are curious to see what you are actually looking at, I have put a wide angle view of the highway junction here:

www.pik-potsdam.de/~botta/tmp/photo/Challenge_108.LIGHTING_the_FOCAL_POINT/img_0620_768.jpg

The two highway branches partially visible on the left and on the right of the picture join in 1-2 hundred meters almost above the shooting point. I took this picture leaning my back against the lamp pole you see in the picture you comment. This was taken with the camera at the base of the pole and directed towards the sky. Here are two other pictures of the lamp pole and of the spot where the two branches of the highway actually meet.

Even with the title I still really can't tell what I'm looking at. But that's not a criticism in this case - I like the sense of not knowing. The 'yellow lines' draw my eye nicely to the pole. It's very unusual and personally I don't think it needs to be lightened - it would lose something if you did so I think. But, it's your photograph so take no notice of me or anybody else and do what is pleasing to you! :-)

David.

I would like to see this a bit lighter so I can see a bit more of the detail. Again some extra contrast & sharpen. Good effort:-)
Don't forget your name under the shots.
