Rod & Paul*

These blokes like giving each other a hard time, but we all know they are good friends. I'm not sure why they came to mind when I saw this pair of pansies ;-)

I suppose I'm the shrivelled up one. That’s a very good comparison Brent because when Paul left after visiting us me missus said, I wonder wot his wife Emma see’s in that pansy:-)

You are correct, Paty, at least about the pansies! I live in N. CA at a 2000ft elevation and my pansies do indeed last all winter. They don't tolerate the summer heat quite as well here though
as temps get into the 100s for quite a few days. Now Rod and Paul - that's another story!
Brent, the colors came through beautifully here and you can almost feel the velvety texture of the petals. Good shot! :-) CJ

Very nice way of evaluating the two Paty :-) And thanks for the information on pansies- I think they are really quite nice flowers and didn't realize how sturdy they can be.

These pansies are gorgeous. Usually when someone is referred to as a "pansy," it means that they are kind of wimpy. After I did a little research on pansies this spring and planted some in our garden, I realized that they are one of the most hardy little flowers that we have. They along with primroses are the first spring flowers you can plant and they will survive some very chilly late winter, early spring nights. Sometimes if you are in the right zone, they will even survive the winter and be one of the first flowers to come up in the early spring. So, I guess, Rod and Paul are sturdy guys with a flourishing friendship!
