Maybe all it is, is the people may need to be blurred more. I think if the people looked like a large crowd all the way along the footpath it would help with the excitement factor. It could even be that the sparse looking crowd takes away from the feeling of these being amongst the best bike riders in the world. Wot that has got to with a photo I don't know:-)
Thanks for the observations Rod. I liked the wide look that the guy on the right was trying to get to the open space on the left.

Nice shot Lee & normally this long crop should work, but I seem to like it better by cropping the left side out to just in front of the bloke wiv his arms crossed.
