Well at the risk of offending me girlfriend I do want to keep me good looks, so I will leave it as it is:-) Thanks Mark nice to see ya again.
Paul 15-Apr-2006 13:49
The expanse of sky works superbly, especially the gradations from light to dark. Crop this and i'll punch your lights out.

Two lonely trees....it's enough to make a lumberjack cry. I like the sky's expanse.

Thanks Hernan & Jano:-) Jano, why do you girls always want more:-)
ctfchallenge15-Apr-2006 04:00
Exactly what i envisoned.... possibly with more cropped off the top. I think the top takes the first focus off the trees. This is awesome in b&w! jano

Very nice pic Rod!!
Rod 14-Apr-2006 22:36
Well, that's why I took this picy to highlight the plight you just explained to us..................I like to do me bit:-)
Paul 14-Apr-2006 20:34
But they won't Rod. The pissweak topsoil won't support new saplings, only the older trees with deep roots will struggle on until the water table rises due to irrigation from bore water bringing salt from ancient oceans up to the surface with it to kill them. Denuded see? All from a photo eh, whou'ld a thunk it?
Guest 14-Apr-2006 14:03
{{{{{{Whoa...my heads spinning from Paul's explanation of "denuded."}}}}} OH yeah, now I remember...This is great Rod. :)
Rod 14-Apr-2006 11:54
But on the bright side once these two trees have grown up they will have baby trees that will spread throughout the land.............................Unless they're both bloke trees.
Paul 14-Apr-2006 11:45
Stripped naked but not in the sense of getting your kit off and getting silly with the missus. Ancient landscape ripped apart for paddocks and abandoned when there's no money in it or all the topsoil has blown to China in a duststorm so the once majestic forest can never regrow. 2 poxy trees as the last remnants of what once covered the entire east coast.
Rod 14-Apr-2006 11:10
Wot's denuded?
Paul 14-Apr-2006 10:51
Yeah, i like this one. The large space above works well and gives it a sparce feeling fitting in well with just 2 trees on the denuded landscape.
Rod 14-Apr-2006 10:47
Thanks Rose & David:-)hehe I think Rose just misspelled the word David. As we know its spelt shite:-)
David14-Apr-2006 09:08
Dunno what 'shat' means where you are Rose, but I don't think the piccy is THAT bad. :-)

Nice one Rod. I like it.

David.

Lovely - is this really yours Rod ? Seems too arty for you mate ? Anyway this is just the kind of shat I had in mid for this challenge.

Thanks Jano & Rk:-) Yes I must have been too quick off the mark this morning as the previous shot was yucky but I saw two's:-) It must have been one I was getting ready for B&W conversion as sometimes I use a Velvia action which over saturates & adds contrast which helps with the B&W................sometimes:-)
Here's another in the vertical which works better..............................I think:-)
Photogenix14-Apr-2006 02:15
Agree with Jano...like it...but, seems to lack the punch...feel that there is too much foreground...

Simple but effective. Something seems out of sync though - maybe too much space on the left? Or perhaps this screams b&w...not sure. Over saturated? I would try a b&w... Still I like it. jano
