Thank you, everyone very much for your kind comments. :)

Jano,
Thank you for your comments. I’ll try to answer your question as best I can. I used 3 strobe lights. One was used for a hair light positioned directly overhead. The second was used for a main light shot through a white umbrella down at the subject, and diagonally towards the subject. It was about 40 degrees from the camera. The third light was used as a fill light, which was shot with a silver reflector umbrella. It was positioned off to the opposite side about 45 degrees from the camera, and almost level with the head. Hope that helps. :)

Needs a date and camera.

I too like the original version better.

I like the original better. Usually I don't like frames but this one is perfect. Looks like she's sitting ina box. I think the shoes stand out just fine because they are so bright. Very nice. Ann

I really really like this, although I'm not sure the main subject here is the red ballet shoes, but the eye is certainly drawn to them! The lighting, IMO, is perfect as is. What was your lighting technique? jano

Thank you for your comments, everyone. :)

Britt - Thanks for your comments. I did another one with a little different lighting. What do you think? :)

I love this; but would like to see the lighting a bit darker and moodier. Her skin tones are very nice, don't get me wrong, but think her posture and situation would look nice in a darker themed scene. Just my preference. :)

Yes very nice shot & the white line isn't as distracting as the red one, though still unnecessary. Nice work mate.

Great portrait. I love the posture of the model

Great shot. Very good lighting and exposure, capturing the skin tones so well. And with the composition as such the Red shoes still have a good part in the pic :)
Another great pic for this Red challenge.
