Beautiful vibrant image. Gorgeous red color :) well done.

Red filling the frame. Maybe zooming to the most wide could give a bigger DOF, but I like it as is :-) /Oved

Mary Anne: Obviously there is always room for improvement :) And your comments made me think. Thanks for sharing your insight. jano

Thanks for your explanation, Jano, and I can certainly appreciate the difficulty (impossibility?) of having all the folds of the ribbon being in focus. I also know the problems with focusing on certain shades of red, for my G3 sometimes absolutely refuses to lock in on them. All that being said, I would still like the front parts of the two middle folds to be in sharper focus. But it's your shot, and if it accomplished what you were trying for, that's the most important thing.

Mary Anne: A red ribbon is very hard to focus on - "red" being the key word. This was taken in natural light and I hoped to achieve what the eye would see viewing a red ribbon. Silky, rough at times, and curvations ... it is what you see. I was quite happy with this image as the best of the bunch as far as details in curvature, hightlights, and texture. I wanted to bring out shadows, satin, and shadows, which I'm happy with. The bottom portion is just the roughest of the ribbon - by no means the most satin as it would be the backside. Thanks for the comments :) jano

Jano, maybe it's just my old eyes, but the only part that looks really in focus is in the lower left corner. Am I missing something here?
