This is really simplistic. Gives a feeling of continuing calm without being titled. Great job. jano

Thanks Alexeig & Alex:-) I have now re done this shot without being lazy. Before I just converted with the Channel mixer after getting the colour shot fixed up. This time I took the original colour shot & converted to B&W using the Hue & Saturation adjustment layer method. It's quite easy really but I keep forgetting how to do it. The new version has a smoother sky & I kept the main sharpening away from the tree. I think it should be better now. Thanks Alexeig:-)

The proportion between the small tree and wide wide road gives me the feeling of interminable way ahead and little cloud is just where it should be. Very nice.
Great entry to the exhibition of the current CSLR challenge (hint, hint) ;-)))
* This image merits a bit more careful work on sharpening: I see halos around the tree. Do it as the very last step after resize, create a copy layer from background, sharpen the copy to what I see now and with a small brush (4-5 pixels) eraze the tree contour from the copy. Flatten image and voila, halos are gone
