Here is the revised image. I cleaned up the blur on the yellow book thanks to Jano's suggestion and I reduced the graininess of the background thanks to Armin. There are no titles on these book spines and this is the Untitled Gallery. Well, I thought it was funny ... ~Sharon

Thanks for your comments, everyone! But no one mentioned if you got the pun! Somebody please say you got it! Jano, I will fix that blur as soon as I get a chance. Armin, I will see what I can do about the background noise as well. Techo, I love this lens! It's the one I used for the winning picture in the Tree challenge. You are right it is the lens creating the DOF not photoshop. Thanks for the excellent recommendation! ~Sharon

Very nice lighting and comp! My one nit pick is that the blur (dof) of the 2nd book, left of the middle, seems to have a wierd blur to it, unnatural to the eye. I would try cloing that out carefully to make it more even. Great conception Sharon. jano

Really nice use of a shallow DOF. I dont think the blur has to be PSed to get this look? The 100mm f2.8 macro lens ;) at f4.5 you should be able get that kind of OOF blur if you're really up close.

Sharon, how you liking that lens so far?

The lighting is great on this & the books look awesome. It might be the lighting but some of the blur looks photo shopped, is it? Nicely done Sharon.

I like this. The colours and textures of the spines and the way the books fade out of focus and sight into the dark background. Good placement of the books too so the 'bar chart' is uneven.
