Thanks to every one for the comments. No, this isn't a clematis cause if it was I would be digging them up for my backyard :) Actually the thorny stalk isn't part of the curly woody thing. I did check, and the curly woodland thing is something that is growing out from the roots or bottoms of the trees and tend to wrap themselves around. I did make sure it was part of a tree and not a plant. Not sure what it is....but is growing out from the trees. jano

Painfully beautiful. Those pokers look nasty. Nice job.

Wonderful! Great muted background and crisp "intricacy" Yvonne

Nice! If I'm not mistaken that looks like the dried up shoots of a Clematis.

Jano, if the one now in Exhibition was the original here, this one is definitely better. Both are nice, however.

I like this version better and think it is more on topic. Nice work again Jano.

OHHHH so sorry Rod.... I can put the other one you commented on in exhibition. Yes, I usually take many shots of the same subject; however, this is not the same shot as the first one posted. Totally different intrical doodad thingy. Although I took my tripod, but with mya running around and a slight breeze now and then, I figured the more shots the better. I have lots of other shots of different subject matter.... but i had my mind set on one of these for sure, thus the extra trip this morning (yesterday didn't take tripod). I'm going to check some of the othe shots, to see if I think i like any of them as much to put into eligible. jano

LOL poor Rod.... anyways I like this sharp macro with the blurred DOF background. Interesting shot Jano :)

Jano wot are you doing, I just finished typing a very intelligent critique to the other creeper shot & when I pressed post it said the shot has been deleted:-)
This shot works a lot better but I miss the nice colours of the other one. Do you normally take more than the one shot of the same subject? I never quite trust the auto focusing to take just one so I always take a few to make sure some are in focus.
