Yes, Jano, this was handheld - and at 300mm as I wanted to blur the background. I probably should have used a tripod and/or maybe increased the DOF as I think some of the branches are more in focus than others. Maybe I'll go out and spray water on the tree and try again :-) Thanks for the comment :-) CJ

Raindrops are a hard object to focus on. I feel the focus is very soft here. I haven't mastered it yet but have only tried handheld. Was a tripod used here? Great attempt CJ - I like the composition very much and it does have a "zen" appeal to it as shot. jano

Thanks Rod :-) With all the rain we've been having, it's been hard to get out to take pictures so this one is of the Japanese Maple right next to my house. Even though I was standing only 5 feet away under the eaves of the roof, I used my 70-300mm IS lens to get this effect.
