I second the "Bugger off, Rod!" This photo has a great illusion to it as if it almost looks like a drawbridge. It's framed well, the sun rays are perfect addition and the sky color looks natural. Stop being such a girl, Rod. :) ~Britt

Oh bugger off Rod! :-) You are only jealous of my creativity. I prefer to work and learn on my photos, rather than replace them with the latest snapshot that falls out of the camera...Must be about time you replaced your entries, they have been in the gallery for more than 24Hrs! - Steve :-)

Oh my gawd, you either have a shot or you don't. You won't make a shot by adding in pretty white clouds & blue sky to suit the pretty picy lovers. Your first stark shot was trying to say something, why don't you put the colour back in the bricks & then you will have a nice pretty meaningless postcard.
Photography is learnt by looking through a camera not by so called works in progress with PS.

Unique mood in this one! Did you use any filters or it's right out of the cam? ~ canoneer

This is a corker now, you feel as if you can run along the road and leap off on to a pillow of cotton wool. Really good mood to this, love it.

this is a very coool image Steve. makes me wanna climb it. hehhehee btw a bit contrast on the wall and saturation in the sky would definitely be enhancements. very captivating photo nonetheless.

Thanks for the comments everyone. As you can see I have been pleying with the image and would be interested in peoples views, I consider this very much a work in progress, and a learning exercise. -steve

Jano has a point, the way this is cropped the sky seems very important but is just grey. Another thing to try would be to crop it as close to the building as possible, that really makes the building loom even more, very dramatic. ~Sharon

Steve - I agree with Mary Anne, in part. A more formidable sky would give more impact - the sky seems to dull this shot as it is just a shade of gray . Otherwise, I like the viewpoint and think the contrast is really good, although it maybe could use just a slight boost. I think the sky is the element to this image though. Very nice image. jano

. Somehow I don't mind the lack of contrast in the bricks on this shot as it makes it seem more medieval in character. I think the electric light could be cloned out but.

This is a great subject, but I think you could give it more impact by shooting it off-center so that the lines are reaching the top with different angles. Is it near you so that you could re-shoot? I would also work on contrast so that the bricks stand out more dramatically.
