What a striking "look'. Fill the frame? Hmmmm let me see.......

1. crop so nothing but the eyes are shown, tight crop "ISO style" :-)
2. crop so only the eyes and nose are shown (for the "pickers" ;-)
3. fill the frame with the nose and mouth only. nahhh, doesn't work for me.
4. reshoot with a "rod" sticking out each nostril. Anyone named Rod around here?

LOL

Great shot!! Hope you didn't mind my having fun while commenting? markjay

Even with just the nose I can still see her lovely face...............& the negative space.
Rod 03-Dec-2005 02:09
Do you think we put Iso's nose out of joint?
janewigginsphotography03-Dec-2005 00:16
Nice nose job. :) jano

WTG, ISO - I am totally with you on this! Up the Topic Police!
Britt 02-Dec-2005 23:11
OMG! At least give us a beautiful eye or something! You rat! LOL
Photogenix02-Dec-2005 23:03
This is hilarious...should also fit the minimalism topic. - RK

Well I guess the nitpickers have something here now they can truly pick ;)
Rod 02-Dec-2005 19:40
Why should I make me shots fit the frame................Oh! you mean Iso.
ctfchallenge02-Dec-2005 13:01
Yeah, we are all nitpicking on filling the frame and if we all have to do it, the master will too. This IS a fantastic portrait! Not sure how the heck to get it to fit the frame however... ~Britt

Addicted To Love by Robert Palmer.
Excellent shot but it doesn't fill the frame.
Rod 02-Dec-2005 08:06
PPS. Well done on ALMOST filling the frame.
Rod 02-Dec-2005 08:04
PS.This is real competition for me Barley Bag.
Rod 02-Dec-2005 07:52
I think this is really flattering & full of ..........well you know......sex appeal.
Shu, lighting is sharpness & the lens camera helps a bit. Well done Iso on taking a real portrait.
With this crop & lighting it would have been so easy to get an evil look so you have done really well mate. This is no glamour shot but she looks lovely.
Shu02-Dec-2005 02:15
I agree, it's not flattering, but perhaps that is exactly what makes the image intriguing. One can count every eyelash thanks to that new 5D! (....yeah, I know..............) shu
ctfchallenge02-Dec-2005 02:13
also want to add, this really good as an old style hollywood photo portrait of a movie star. the shadows and b/w conversion is nice.

The eyes are just stunning...very feline! I'd be tempted to crop out the mouth, as the strong tone of the lips distracts from her eyes.

Hi iso.

Great job with eyes and lighting, the details in the eye are awesome. But I'de have to say this particular crop does not really flatter the subject that well. Using the 50mm really close up, do you find it distorts the facial features a bit?

Thanks,

-Techo

btw, congrats on getting the 5D :)
Guest 01-Dec-2005 23:06
wha oh! The master is back. I think I'll just go and delete all my pictures now.

An excellent B&W portrait.
