We have to conquer this island...

Ok, maybe only as placegetter, while I think about other entries :)
By the way, this picture describes exactly, how I felt in the army (18 months)...

Thank you all :-)
Abstract, the exposure was driven by the aperture, to generate enough DOF.

Anyone who can come up with these ideas gets my nod. Yvonne

i like the idea (and title) very much but i dont understand the chosen exposure. why so extreme in this controlled lighting situation? not saying anything is wrong, just curious. -Abstract

Nice creative job of without even stepping out the door. I like the cropped update much better.

Bugger off ;-) ...finally, we have something to make up a nice controversy. Actually, I do not know, shooting outside is extremely exciting, but to me sometimes a funny still provides real fun as well :) Best regards, Armin

Can't really see the point in shots like this except for amusing yourself at home. It's a load of cods wallop init:-)

Very nice!

Cool idea. Red the Marine color! :) so the others are Army soldiers.
(*) IMHO you can easily crop out the right side, so the purple object is cut off and then crop off a little of the top so you get a nice photo aspect ratio and gets rid of the top visible line aswell.

LOL, that's true, in the old books, they desribe the origin of me name as Armin to be related to Arminius aka "H_erman_n, the Cherusker," who successfully fought the ancient Romans and defeated them in the "Teutoburger Wald" (17/16 b.C.).
Well, controversies? Yes. please :) But fighting? Nope, not really my thing - although I see the need to "fight" for freedom, equality and democracy.
Thanks, ~Army_n
