You may be right Mary Anne (as I said: I’m getting used to it). It’s just that it *always* takes me some time to accept changes to my own pictures I had already been accustomed to see in a certain way... :-) Thanks for stating your opinion! — db.

I do think it looks better this way...much more unified, causing the viewer to focus on the woman instead of looking at the distracting things on the sides.

That’s what I’ll do, Techo; thanks for suggesting! As a matter of fact I’m getting—slowly—used to this version and start to like it. In order to preserve some of the lost depth, BTW, I wanted to leave the whole left side of the image intact; but then, the overall proportions of the picture became odd. The way I present it now, at least it is square (1:1). — db.

Before suggesting a recrop I actually did try the crop in PS. I agree that little of the depth is missing but in return I think more emphasis is put on the path of the lady, it starts all the way from bottom of the path till all the way to the end, and none of the distracting lines on the side. We still have plenty of time till this challenge ends. You could leave this one up for a while and then repost the other? maybe by then a more you'll have clearer choice and post your favorite even if it's not this current crop.

Here you go, Mary Anne and Techo: After quite a debate with—or against?—myself, I've uploaded a cropped version (more or less as suggested). Let me know what you think! I still have my doubts... — db.

Many thanks, chp and techo, for taking the time to analize my pictures. As I wrote before: I, for myself, did not like the crops I experimented with because they eliminated quite some depth. — db.

Nice on DB. My favorite of your three entries. It's right on topic, this one offers the sense of isolation the others didn't do as well. (*) speaking of cropping, I would just crop out the first dark part of the wall on the right and an ever so tiny crop off the bottom. I find that dark column a little distracting and once I cropped it out, my eye was easily led to the path of the women.

chapeau !, el grafismo de los arcos..., ese abrigo al viento..., las curvas que se buscan y no se encuentran...

Yes, Mary Anne, I have (mainly because I wanted the picture to be in «portrait format»—as opposed to «landscape format»—as are the other ones of this mini-series) but then I found it lacked depth that way... Thanks for commenting on two of my pictures. — db.

There's a compelling juxtaposition between the grafitti and the more classic forms of the arches curving to the right. Have you tried cropping off the darker areas on both sides? I can't decide whether or not it would make a more powerful statement without them.

Kind of creepy. You can hear her heels echoing through the empty halls. I like it.
