The cops were right behind me, therefore the rush ;-)) ~ Armin

Gives a great sense of speed.! Don't show this to the cops.... You'll risk a ticket :) -Cat

Thanks Rich and Tomas, very good suggestion. Tried it already at night, it looks a little bit the Enterprise shooting a photon torpedo ;-) ...unfortunately sharpness becomes a real issue, because (auto-)focussing is nearly impossible. But I'm on it :-)http://www.pbase.com/arminb/misc

Fantastic. Try also another one in the night, I guess it might look like entering a tunnel into the hyperspace or another interesting thing from the Startrek. Tomas

Very, very well done. Great speed feeling
ctfchallenge16-Oct-2005 18:20
Hmmm, well, let's say 70 something ;-) ...70 km/h was at least the official speed limit of this street... ~ Armin
Guest 16-Oct-2005 18:05
Excellent effect, Armin! Such a blurr, at just one second... was it really just 70 km/hr? ;-)
Guest 16-Oct-2005 12:09
I said CAMERA steady, you silly goose! :-) Again, great work!! Markjay

This is fantastic. Viewing it i feel as if i'm racing along. My favourite so far.

Thank you all :-) Steady dashboard? Well, it's a Canon IS board ;-))
The cam was lying on the board, had a bit support from the tripod quick mount, which was between two of the round air inlets (don't know how to describe this in a better way) and the lens had contact to the board as well. The rest is - I guess - luck, a good street condition and only about 70 km/h. In several other pics of this attempt the board (and all the rest) was heavily unsharp.

Wow, AminB! Great blurr / motion results from your efforts. How did you manage to keep the camera so steady and have the dashboard in relatively sharp focus? Me I would have botched this one up! Markjay

Just got up down here & while I wait for the missus to wake up so I can cook breakfast,. I just have to log on to read the rave reviews to me shots:-)
This shot is really good then Armin with no PS magic. The blur looks..... well, really blurred:-) Nice work mate:-)
arminb15-Oct-2005 21:07
Thanks, Rod! (Don't you ever go to bed ?-) ) ...Post work? Well, sharpening of the blue car in front of me, yes, a lot. Blurring? While driving nearly at the speed of light, everything becomes blurred ;-)).
No post blurring at all, this is really what I shot, the long exposure did it for me, but it took about 100 shots while driving - no kiddin'. ~ Armin

You said we had used up most of the ideas, but you have come up with some gooduns yourself Armin. I know this is a 1sec exposure but somehow I get the impression that you may have helped the blur along in Photoshop. If you didn't, then this works very well for me mate.
