Thank you, Markjay and Alexeig. The group was really quite good, but they were in a shaded area with busy background in every direction. This was about the only one I was able to get without distractions all around. Their clothing was basically b & w, but I converted it anyhow in order to eliminate the glaring colored reflections (on those shiny shoes) from the spotlights. I think this works a lot better than the color original.

Nicely composed picture. It makes one curious what their faces look like which indicates a successful idea. Good b/w conversion too

I like ike, Mary Anne! I think one day someone should have a "Shoes" challenge. Wouldn't it be cool to see an entire gallery of different perspectives and experiences? Nice work. Markjay

I think the G3 did an excellent job here, containing both shadow and silhouette. jano

You know, the topic never came up. I guess we were too busy talking and getting to know each other in between the picture-taking. I discovered that we both tend to get into conversations with perfect strangers. Also, we both like fried bread dough.

Did you have a play with Sharons XT Mary Anne. Or wouldn't she let you use it? :-)
ctfchallenge02-Oct-2005 21:15
Thanks, Sharon. And I agree with Rod that it would be interesting to see the different takes we have on the same subject. Of course, having seen what you're able to do with the XT, I'm absolutely green with envy. Be sure to let me know when you've got your Big E shots in your pbase gallery.

It can be really interesting to see how different people shoot the same subject. Some totally different shots sometimes.

Mary Anne, I knew this shot would be good when I saw you taking it and it is! I took a couple myself but mine lack a certain something that this image has. I especially like the b&w, good choice! ~Sharon

Thanks, Rod. The music was also very good...wish I could have captured that.
