Opened in 1895 and on the main North South line but now, not many trains stop at this unmanned station.
I used to spend many hours here as a kid. It's not long ago that it had a paint job which is usually the sign of a closure ("We've spent money on it and no one uses it").
Next stop the city of Inverness.

Excellent. I imagine the Titfield Thunderbolt to come crawling around the corner as this has a wonderful nostalgic feel to it.

Lew, the sky was basically like that but I did use the chanel mixer to convert.

I really like this photo, kind of timeless. There are some lovely stations here, but it is so rare to find one not spoilt by garish signs or coffee bars. With the exception of the electric lights this could have been taken hundreds of years ago. Nice work - steve (redbull99)

I can see this one hanging in a museum someday. It's a wonderful evocation of "things past", that works only in B&W. Did you achieve that sky via Channel Mixer (or in-camera red filter option?), or was it just that way. Just wondering, as I'm very new to digital B&W.

Exactly the right angle of light for this image...and it doesn't hurt to have that beautiful sky. Very nice.

Well done Jock, this works really well. The lighting & shadows making this a great candidate for B&W. Love it.
