Thanks, aam. I tried starting with green and it helped a lot. I've replaced the original with the result....Lew

The trick for CM is to make the majority in the green channel. I usually start with R=0, B=0, and G=100% then tweak the photo. Green has the most information out of the three channels.

Thanks, Yvonne.
aam1234: I had tried the Channel Mixer tool (for the first time) but got overwhelmed by the flexibility (and having to keep the three values adding to 100%). Thanks for the suggestion; I'll muster patience and try to befriend it. (It sure would help during experimentation to be able to hold down Shift, Ctrl or Alt to keep one color channel at a fixed value, while you slide a slider to vary the other two and keep the total at 100%.)

Reminds me of coming home when I lived with my parents. Light always on. Nice shot. Yvonne

Don't desaturate Lew as it makes the photo just gray, use the Channel Mixer.

Thanks, Mary Anne. Right--not handheld, lol. I can't hold 1/60 anymore, much less a 4-sec exposure. I went back last night and reshot it in RAW using the 20D but can't seem to get it right. Guess I need more desaturation practice....Lew
