Thanks for sharing regarding the lighting set-up or usage. I tried shooting silver on silver, but kept on getting weird reflections. You did a great job. Yvonne

Great lighting and thought process to make this photo stand out. I have had trouble shooting silver by and large. You've done it very well! jano

Darrel and Oved, Thanks for leaving your comments :)

The only source of the light for this and the other two photos posted in eligible and the other Pin photo in Exhibition is a window on the left. As for the split light/dark lighting, I pushed half of the blinds away which have created the effect below. If you look at the Pin photo you can also see a little light graduation but because it was closer the window it doesn't go in as deep into the darker areas. Plus, using added contrast, Levels and Curves applied, also darkens the black and pops the whites.

I tried various angles and compositions so the minor dings and scratches aren't terribly visible on the metal surface. I did forget to mention that I did clone out a few scratches.

I like the way you set it up as an "S". Puzzled about the lighting: type, angle, how the shadows were set... Care to share?

Visually appealing. I like this shot a lot.
