Believe it or not I wasn´t going for an erotic theme here but it certainly turned out that way. Thanks for all the comments everyone. Thanks Josè for explaining the export phenomenon. I´ve been kind of busy this week so I haven´t had time to respond. Now of course they`re not this green but they`re pretty darn green. I was thinking that for the most part the overdone touch wouldn`t be well received but it seems the critics haven`t been too harsh:-) A lot of comedy...which lightens up my week! Thanks all. - andrew

Hi Andrew. Great idea and concept for the challenge. Are these green bananas what aliens like you eat? :) Loved the title.
Now seriously, with your permission, I will comment about the inquiries of our colleagues here. These are regular bananas. They are cut down from the trees on their green stage so while they travel from this “Banana Republic” to your supermarkets, they change to the more known yellow color ready to be enjoyed. You don’t eat them while they are green (they taste a little like if you were eating a raw plantain).
I’m hungry now. I’ll ask my wife to prepare some “platanitos fritos” for dinner. Want to join me Andrew? :)

I really like the saturated green color. With bananas these unripe and bruised... perhaps they're plantains? but then the title won't work. Banana bonanza sounds great!
