hehe, I shot a few other versions after posting this one. One not so colorful but the other is :) I didn't have enough time to post process them. If they turn out good enough I'll post them in the forum.

Thanks everyone, for leaving your comments.

Great compo, nice bold colors, and a long way to go before you get the answer to your question... LOL -Cat

When first viewed, my eye is drawn to the focus of the photo which is the main flower. But, after reading the other comments, I think perhaps cropping off a tad at the bottom would make this more powerful. The placement of the petals doesn't take away from the image as I think if you were systematically taking the petals off they could easily be placed this way by the picker. Beautiful color, nice and sharp! Great photo Techo! jano

This is such a good idea. I think the problem for me (and by all accounts only me) is the choice of flower. Just too many petals. The overall effect though is great.

I have mixed feeling about the DOF. I too think it needs a little more DOF but on the other hand, a little more DOF and I hope the path to the flower would be as easy to find. I also pondered on the placement of the petals, I'll think about that and the composition some more.

Thanks for leaving your comments everyone. Really appreciated.

Yvonne, I know how you feel. It's happened to me at least twice already. Please don't let this be a deterrent from posting your own version. I had the idea but wasn't sure how to arrange it. I had a human subject in mind, she was supposed to be OOF in the photo with emphasis put on the flower and falling petals, some grass and nice blue sky in the background would have really capped if off.

I got the 20D for a few days all to myself. The weather isn't good out so I'm playing around with some of the flowers in the vase. Though I really wish I had a Daisy flower for this kind of shot.

Techo, LOL I have been shooting this exact same theme and shot for two days now! Like minds I suppose. They do say there are few original ideas anymore, but we must have drawn from the same well. Yvonne

Techo, nice color...nice composition...everything is awesome.
just the petals' orientataion doesnt look natural. i dont think, person would care to arrange petals neatly while playing "loves me/not" game. i know you are trying to draw eyes to the flower but imho dof is doing it effectively. -Abstract

It's very colourful & graphic & fits the topic really well. I'm a little disturbed by the large amount of OOF at the bottom of the shot though. I think just one row of OOF petals would have worked better:-)

This works very well indeed for me. The "Loves me, loves me not" is perfect for the theme. The colours are striking and i really like the way you are drawn in to the flower but not into the centre of the image.
