Thanks RK,
Do you think I need to profile my monitor again. I don't see any BH's on mine.

Cat, the thumbnail looked awesome. These are some observartions for what its worth:
- the picture seems flat (I know that this is a dried/dead flower).
- there is a lot of BH in the petals.

aaahhaaa much better. even the in-focus petals and a little reflection of flower adds to the image. well done photocat. -Abstract

Great lighting on the dead flower. theFly

The diagonal placement of the flower definitely makes for a stronger image.

OK Abs, I redid the cover and added a little angle this time. Hope it is better now. -Cat

Thanks Abs, Yes, the petals (especially the detached one) are intentionally OOF. That helps draw the attention on to the flower itself. (That is the idea). I have shot this one in a diagonal angle also and have tried various combinations as a CD cover. As a picture the diagonal one looks better, obviously. But once I have a square crop and put the text, the diagonal combination looses its appeal, partly because the text covers some portion of the stem. Also in the original, the flower is placed in the far left in 4x6 crop but in this 4x4 crop its hard to get that placement. Everything considered, I liked this one. Thank you for analysing this with me. That made my efforts on the other ones worth. -Cat

a really nice photo and a perfect subject for a cd album, especially considering the title.
although i feel that the vertical positioning of the rose is a very static-composition. placing it diagonally or at a little angle will make the shot alive. btw did you intentionally make petals oof?
overall a nice image though. -Abstract
