16-JUN-2005 Humberto Olarte Cupas (Nugar)

Eve *

Gamboa, Panama

Lately, I've been practicing with people. This was shot recently in the midst of the Panamanian jungle, about 1 hour from home.

The lady in the image is a good friend of mine. And no, her real name is not Eve.

I hope the colors classify as "Nugar colors" :o)

This shot screams "lushness" skin, colors, jungle. Yvonne

Thanks all for your comments, let's see:

Pops, thanks for this suggestion, I'll pay attention to details like this on the next shoot. I still have to learn to see those details before pressing the shutter... it is *hard* to notice!

Pedro, thanks for your comment, if you'd please check out a closer view of mi friend here: saludbucal.net/gg/hoc20d_9912.jpg I have to add that this image has a bit of PS work on the skin.

Jose Pablo, gracias!

Cat, sorry, I only have another one up, the one I cited up there ^

Techo, thanks! Believe me, it is hard and even harder with a beautiful lady. A lot of soft focused images due to camera... trembling :o)

I was wondering where you where ;) Very nicely titled . And yes those are Nugar colors. The settings is perfect and the composition is almost perfect, I agree with Lee about her left foot being block from view. People photography ain't easy and you've done it very well.

-Techo :)

Yeah Nugar, post a link to the other 140. -Cat

I like this one a lot. Nice scenery and lovely girl.
Both are doing great. Felicitaciones a ti y a "Eva".
-Jose Pablo.

Very nice, Humberto. Agree on the foot, but the lady is beautiful and the colors great.
Guest 20-Jun-2005 13:46
Lee mentioned the foot which I agree on. I've got to comment about the left wrist. That is the way we all would support our weight but in the photo it looks akward. There's too much angle between her arm and her hand. She should have rested her weight on the finger tips and straightened out the wirst. A minor complaint. It's still an excellent photograph.

LOL, I guess I'm lucky then :o) Thanks for the comments

It almost has the feel of a studio shot, apart from the aforementioned foot it's a lovely portrait. My missus wouldn't let me go into the hot steamy jungle with such a pretty lady. I know, I know, a pretty lady wouldn't go into the jungle with me:-)

It is a great start. Post a link when you go again. theFly

Thanks Lee. I concur about the left foot. She positioned it on a shallow pool. The setting is actually a small waterfall, and I was quite distant from her. We're both learning, she to relax in front of the camera and me to look for those little details when shooting. I have a whole lot of other images where for example a thumb is obscured by a fallen leaf. We're planning a reshoot soon. Let's see how that goes...

Great color and setting. (*) I do wish I could see her left foot. It appears chopped off. theFly

I might add that this image was taken at noon, with a foliage cover. She was sitting below a ray of light that came from an opening in the canopy. And she is lighted with fill-flash, using a Lightsphere II.

Thanks Cat, I took about 140 shots that day and only end up liking two of them. I'll link it if you wish to see it.

This one very nice "Nugar Colors". The exposure is right on. The highlights on her hair and the moss textures are a added plus on this one. -Cat

Thanks Mary Anne :o)
ctfchallenge19-Jun-2005 19:27
They are definitely "Nugar color." You know, I also like the texture of the moss on the rocks.

Thanks for your comments, Shu, had a fun time taking this and some other pics. The humidity was terrible, though...

Nugar--Glad to hear from you! I love the lushness of this image. Beautiful lady, beautiful image! Yes, true Nugar colors, too! Shu
