I guess my signature images are mostly landscapes with saturated colors.
This is how a "sunny" day looks like in Guatemala during the rainy season: Blue bright skies tied with some gray clouds announcing the later shower.
Here you have a view of Amatitlan Lake with Agua volcano at back.

Thanks for the comment Nugar. I know you wake up very early, so it is just a matter of taking the camera outside.
First thing I thought to shoot for this challenge was something related with cycling, but then I would have lied to myself since it has been months that I don’t take an early ride. Now I prefer to spend my spare time arranging my photo galleries. The bad part of it is that my belly is starting to betray me...

Hola Jose,

This shot reminds me of the first shot you submited, very nice tropical landscape. I think I'll have drag my arse out of bed early on of these days to shoot some landscapes around here...

Actually I didn't use Layers 'per se' for post processing this shot, but the History Brush Tool. I wrote a tutorial of how I photshoped this image. You can find it here:

I'm sorry if my English is not clear enough and for the grammar or spelling mistakes (many probably, since I wrote this at 2:00 am). Everybody please feel free to correct any mistake you may find.
I'm far away of using efficiently PS, but since you asked, I wanted to share what I know. Maybe someone will find it useful as you said.
Also I'll appreciate if the person who has the template picture for the tutorials, can make one specifically for this one (Nugar, is it you?) Thanks in advance.

Rod, I’m glad that you liked my "postcard". Another one for the collection. :)
I had to post process this in separate layers to try to get what I wanted. One for the sky and another one for the foliage, lake and the volcano. I wish I had used exposure bracketing shots for this one. Well, next time it will be.

The clouds give this good depth and lead your eye to the volcano and make the plants on the right stand out nicely. It's too bad there wasn't a little less of a haze in the lower left to middle area, but what can you do when the weather is involved? Nicely done.
