Thanks, Alexeig. It's my usual breakfast...either raisin bran or oatmeal, both with fruit and nuts added. Maybe I'm weird, but I actually enjoy them.

You have a very healthy breakfast. I like the light coming from the window and the shadows

I know what you mean about Dorys though she hasn’t been changing her shots around much lately. At least when us blokes put a shot up it stays:-)..cough...cough

Well, I have to dither around trying it first one way and then another. I still have a week to decide which version I prefer. And I'm not going to replace it with a completely different shot...like some people I know. ;-)

Mary Anne If you prefer the original darker one then why put this lighter one up? Silly billy you must have the one you like posted here. I like this lighter better because it ses a bright new day. Not.... "blimey another bleeding day at work" which I go through 5 days a week:-)

Oh...Andy, sorry about the clutter, but this was taken at my mother's house and she likes to have various decorations on her table.

Here it is with some brightening, but I'm afraid I didn't set a black point because the shadow on the left under the bowl looks too muddy. I think I may actually prefer the darkness of the original one, which you can see here:

For me this shot is spoiled a little by the clutter behind the juice. I love these shots with daylight streaming through the windows.

I think all you need for this shot is to up the brightness in curves or levels so the morning light from the window spreads through the drink & lightens the fruit & cereal. This will also enhance the shadows. Don't worry if the window blows as this could also help the shot. I like the book there too. Go on Mary Anne break the rules for a great shot:-)

I would crop this picture a little tighter, especially the foreground as it is little dark and soft...
