Thanks everybody for the comments. So basically everybody is suggesting to do something major with it. I guess a replacement might be in order, I'll try to do that. Thanks again for the suggestions & comments

It appears sort of unclean in there almost dirty. Not appetising enough to make me want to lick it clean.

Strong in form but weak in interest value. Several things to reconsider about this shot. Another object. ie ashtray coffee machine spoon etc. The crop: maybe don't cut off the handle. Black and white works but give it a tone. Straight black and white is a little lifeless. As lonnit suggests some sepia would be good. Just some thoughts.

this is screaming for sepia treatmen. ~ Lonnit

I certainly can do that RK. Espresso is one of my favorite "subjects" especially when it comes to consuming it :)

Aam, maybe a lighter background to catch the shadows...

Frankly Rich, It was very boring in color. Actually, the color of the dried foam, at least, wasn't bad. But I think Paul is right, it's just a shot, nothing else there.

It's not bad at all. What was it like in color? Rich

Thanks Shu. Wanted to delete it, but maybe keep it for a while then decide.

Maybe if the froth was more defined, it would help to get the point across. I like the fact of an empty espresso cup and can imagine how d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s it was!! Shu

Thanks Paul. I appreciate your frank and straight forward advice, I really do.
You have some great ideas there, will definitely try them out.

Thank you very much for your advice.

As far as being a photo of an empty coffee cup then it's fine. It's not that interesting though. I'd really like to get the feel of that early morning coffee. Perhaps have the cup on a newspaper page with the ring of the cup base stained, maybe some crumbs from a biscuit or toast scatterred over the place. If you're a smoker, maybe a swirl of cigarette smoke or a spent cigarette crunched up disgustingly in the bottom of a cup. We all know how great we feel with a good cup of coffee, whether it's first thing in the morning or at a cafe with friends mid afternoon or late afternoon by yourself with good book.
Your beer shot in Exhinbition works really well with the intense light in the background and the beads of perspiration on the can making the viewer feel the thirst and the joy of refeshment with the first mouthful. I don't feel anything about the pleasures of coffee just looking at this shot.

Regards Paul
