Thanks All!

Cat, Not too bad. I have used an slr from about 24 years. Did not take as may pictures as now, because film was sooo expensive. Still alot to learn with the XT. But I really love it. theFly

Very nice Lee, Its less than a week and you are already working your new 350D. Neat! how was the transition from P&S to SLR? -Cat

Beautiful smile and face expression

This is a very nice portrait. As with other comments i'll be honest. And it is only my opinion. But the eyes are important and her right eye is in shadow. Nit picking i know but what can you do with a great picture.

Love the angle. As for softness of the eyes, it doesn't take away much from the photo (for me). Lovely lady by the way, one can see the kindness of her heart in her eyes & smile.

Your wife like yourself is very photogenic. Your expressions really come across well. I agree with Olaf though, wish the eyes where more in focus.

Nice capture! The expression is dear and I like the lighting and framing/composition. I would wish for sharper eyes, but if you handheld at 1/13th second and 45mm, that explains the slight softness (which works very well on all other parts than the eyes). Don't be afraid to use ISO800 or higher when necessary - that is one of the biggest advantages DSLRs have over the compacts.

Nugar, Yes this is hand held. I really do not have a steady hand though. Love the lack of noise and the ability to change ISO. theFly

Is this hand held? If it is, you do have a very steady hand. Love the colors and note the lack of noise!
